Couples Therapy

Every person has relationships but we’ve lost touch with what connection is. Lost what healthy relationships look like as a culture.

Most of us have never had an example of healthy relationships and haven’t unpacked the things that set us up to fail in our lives.

Our goal with couples is to break down and understand dysfunctional patterns together, connect and rebuild healthy relationships through compassionate yet direct work together. There is no hiding, we have all conversations together and if trauma comes up we work on that together as well.

Couples therapy are typically 53+ minute sessions between a couple and the clinician,if insurance based. Usually consisting of an intake session to gather history and presenting concern. Clinician may have a single separate individual sessions with each partner. Following sessions consist of planning, outline, and active directive work between the couple and the clinician.

Clinician is trained in Relational Life Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Gottman (Level 1), which is more direct of an approach but based in attachment and healthy relationship building. No partner is isolated, but that does not me no one is uncomfortable. You need to be vulnerable, actively listen, and uncomfortable to change!
